Allah Ta'ala says,
‘’أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُمْ
مِنْ آَيَاتِهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآَيَاتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ’’
" Do you not see that the ships sail through the ocean by the grace of God , to show him to you some of the signs ( of power ) Him . Verily in this is truly there are signs for everyone very excited , thankful . "
From the Al-Quran (QS. Luqman: 31) can conclude that It is Allah who
subjected all that God has shown his greatness by allowing wood and
iron ( ship ) floating on the water which is ocean. of water ,
God made the sea , from the ocean , the gods made the island .
The islands that exist make this a show of greatness of God and
has showered the sea for sustenance. So, I want to introduce a
little bit about one of the island that Allah had made which is
Rawa Island, Johor in Malaysia.
Rawa Island is one of the easy getaway to have a cozy environment
with family and friends. it is located at Mersing,Johor. It has
beautiful beaches with water that is still very green and lush.
In addition, the soft white sand add to the beauty of its own.
The panorama presented makes this beach has a special
attraction for the tourists. Not only a beautiful color
combination of green and blue sea water, people that
go there also will be surprised by many white dove habitat
that wandering by the beach. Not only that, as far as
the eye can see, there are some groups that adorn the
beautiful coral sea. Plus, the panorama presented the
beauty of the trees and beautiful beaches.
Rawa Island were owned by the Johor Sultanate, the island
has been sensitively developed with just two small resorts
which is Rawa Safaris and Alang’s Rawa. By history,
Rawa Island were found by Tunku Mohammed Archibald
when he were fishing on that area.
There are many activities that we can do there, for
example swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing,
relaxing, take a nap and many more.
There are two ways to there. First by boat and second by ferries.
All boats and ferries depart from Mersing. When booking stay on
Rawa, a speedboat transfer between Mersing and Rawa can be
included in package. The departure time is dependent on availability
of boats, tidal conditions and the size of your group and cost about
RM 35-45. Alternatively, ferry services between Mersing and Tioman
Island can make a stop at Rawa depend on request.
Tickets cost RM 45 each way and ferries leave every one to two hours
between 09:30 and 17:30.
Tips:
- Rawa Island closes during the
monsoon season (November to March)
- Tidal conditions may influence
the departure time of your boat
- Ferries are often delayed and
there are sometimes cancellations.
- Book your ferry ticket in
advance if travelling over weekends, public holidays and Singaporean and
Malaysian school holidays.
